St. Antony

Do you know what happens when a steel company decides to make wine? That's the story of St. Antony . Founded in 1920 in a former limestone quarry, the winery has catapulted itself into the absolute top tier of Rheinhessen wines.

Here, everything revolves around the legendary Roter Hang (Red Slope ). Rieslings grow on the red slate soil, and they pack a punch: mineral, smoky, and full of power [citation:3]. Organic and biodynamic farming has been practiced here since 2006 [citation:2]. The wines from the Pettenthal, Orbel, and Hipping vineyards are among the best in Germany.

Let cellar master Dirk Würtz take you on a journey – from the powerful Blaufränkisch to the elegant Riesling. A truly top German winery waiting to be discovered!

Red slate, biodynamic power –
St. Antony Winery

From a former limestone quarry emerged one of Rheinhessen's most dedicated wineries. Since 2006, St. Antony has cultivated the Roter Hang vineyard in Nierstein biodynamically. Winemaker Dirk Würtz vinifies Rieslings from Pettenthal, Orbel, and Hipping – mineral-driven, with a distinct slate character.
