Origin & Character
Domina was bred in Würzburg in 1927 from Portugieser and Pinot Noir and has established itself primarily in Franconia, where the continental climate suits it well. In the glass, it shows a deep color and strong structure – more body than Portugieser, less finesse than Pinot Noir, but with its own profile. Typical are aromas of dark berries, blackberry, and plum, plus a subtle spiciness and soft tannins. Vinified dry, it remains accessible and drinkable without appearing flat.
