Montes Cabernet Sauvignon Carmenère Limited

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère grapes for Montes' eponymous wine grow under optimal conditions on their own vineyard in the Apalta Valley, DO Santa Cruz (a sub-appellation of the Colchagua Valley). All grapes are harvested at full ripeness and fermented using traditional methods. After the final blend is created, approximately 70% of the cuvée is aged for six months in American oak barrels. Color: beautiful, intensely luminous ruby ​​red. Aroma: the bouquet blends seductive notes of fine butterscotch, chocolate, spices, tobacco, and coffee with elegant vanilla aromas (resulting from barrel aging). The taste of Montes Limited is smooth with a soft, almost sweet richness, a medium to full body, and the characteristic, yet firm and velvety tannins of the Carmenère grapes. The finish is harmoniously rounded and balanced with a beautiful length. James Suckling awarded it 92 points for the 2017 vintage.
