Kaiken Ultra Malbec

The Kaiken Ultra Malbec shows an expressive bouquet, dominated by spicy and floral notes that clearly reflect the cool vintage temperatures and the dark berry fruit (blueberries, blackberries) characteristic of Malbec.

Elegantly structured on the palate, the softly ripened tannins give the aromas their framework and make the wine pleasantly accessible, fruity, fresh, and multi-layered with a long aftertaste of dried flowers and culinary herbs (rosemary, thyme).

The grapes for Montes KAIKEN Ultra are gently fermented and the young wine is then aged for twelve months in barrels made of 100% French oak. To preserve its original taste as completely as possible, KAIKEN is bottled only lightly filtered. Montes vinifies the KAIKEN wines in a leased winery using purchased grapes from various sites in the Tupungato area, Mendoza. All suppliers were selected very carefully and every stage of viticulture is monitored by Montes. Once it has been determined which areas produce the best grapes, Montes may purchase its own vineyards in Argentina and build a winery.
