Montes Alpha Merlot

The Montes Alpha Merlot boasts concentrated fruit aromas of Morello cherries, with hints of black tobacco and sweet chocolate dominating the bouquet. On the palate, it is velvety with ripe tannins and a seemingly endless finish. The grapes are hand-harvested and destemmed. After extended maceration, the wine matured for 12 months in French oak barrels (one-third new, one-third second-fill, and one-third third-fill). Only then is a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon added to the Merlot to slightly enhance the acidity and tannins. The wine is lightly filtered before bottling.
