Kaiken Terroir Series Cabernet Sauvignon

On the nose, the Terroir Series Cabernet Sauvignon from Bodegas Kaiken possesses the unmistakably classic Cabernet aromas of freshly crushed black currants and juicy cherries, elegantly underscored by the fine violet scent of Malbec and perfectly integrated notes of oak aging (dark chocolate, spices).

On the palate, the three grape varieties merge into a taste experience that is both powerful and full of finesse; Cabernet Sauvignon provides the juicy dark berry aromas (blueberries), plenty of fullness and complexity, Malbec complements with silky matured tannin, and Petit Verdot completes the blend with clear structure and depth, powerful with rich, fresh fruit, perfect balance of acidity, sweetness, alcohol, and beautiful length in the finale.

In Agrelo and the Uco Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot are harvested by hand into small 15-kg crates, also carefully sorted by hand, and initially cold-macerated (at 10 °C) for seven days. Only then does the twelve-day alcoholic fermentation begin at controlled temperatures of 25 to 28 °C. After the fermentation period is complete, the wines remain on the skins for another seven to 15 days to extract a maximum of color pigments, grape-typical aromas, and soft tannin from the grape skins. 80% of the wines are laid to mature for nine months in French oak barrels, then all wines are blended into the Kaiken Corte Final Blend and bottled after natural fining and only gentle filtration.
