A Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza's Andean foothills – structured, mature, and with a depth rarely found in this price range.
Kaiken is the Argentine project of Montes, the renowned Chilean winery. The grapes come from Agrelo, a growing region south of Maipo at an altitude of around 1,000 meters. The large daily temperature difference in the Andes ensures slow ripening and distinct aromatics while maintaining a fresh acid structure.
Deep ruby red in the glass. On the nose, ripe blackberry and blueberry, underpinned by bitter chocolate, cedar, and a hint of tobacco and coffee – plus a fine minerality that clearly shows the origin character of Agrelo. On the palate, juicy and spicy, with well-structured tannins that blend softly into the overall picture. The finish is silky and persistent.

What does the wine pair best with?
Classically with grilled beef fillet or lamb shank with rosemary. It also pairs well with braised game or a mature Manchego – anywhere you need a spicy, structured red wine.
At what temperature should I serve it?
16–18 °C – so slightly cooler than room temperature. If you serve it too warm, you lose the fresh acidity structure that makes the wine so drinkable. Placing it in the fridge shortly before opening helps.
What makes Agrelo special as an origin?
Agrelo is located south of Mendoza at an altitude of around 1,000 meters. The large temperature differences between day and night in the Andes slow down the ripening process – this results in distinct aromatics combined with fresh acidity, which you can clearly feel in the glass.
How long can I store the wine?
Stored in a cool, dark place on its side – ideally between 12 and 16 °C – it will remain in good condition. The structured tannins and acidity provide a solid foundation for this.
