Montes Alpha Merlot
The Montes Alpha Merlot has concentrated fruit aromas of morello cherries; a hint of black tobacco and sweet chocolate determine the bouquet. Velvety on the palate with ripe tannins and an almost endless finish.
The grapes are harvested by hand and destemmed. After an extended maceration period, the wine was aged for 12 months in French barriques (1/3 new, 1/3 second use, 1/3 third use). Only then is a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon added to the Merlot to strengthen the acidity and tannin somewhat. Before bottling, the wine is only lightly filtered.
