Suolo Rosso Primitivo di Manduria

A Primitivo di Manduria that shows why this Apulian DOC zone stands for powerful, sun-ripened red wines: dark in the glass, aromatically dense, with real substance in the finish.

Vigneti del Salento operates in Salento, the peninsula between the Ionian and Adriatic Seas, where the Primitivo grape finds its finest expression on red clay soils – the eponymous suolo rosso . Hot, dry summers and sea breezes from both directions shape the style: ripe fruit, but with a refreshing undertone.

In the glass, the Suolo Rosso opens with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and a hint of vanilla, suggesting barrel aging. A subtle coconut note, typical of American oak, is also present. The body is full-bodied with soft, well-integrated tannins – not an angular young wine, but a Primitivo that already presents itself as approachable.

Vineyards of Salento

Vigneti del Salento is an Italian winery located in the Apulia region. The prevailing climate facilitates grape development through temperature fluctuations between day and night and the proximity to the sea. Additionally, the intense heat partially dries the grapes, increasing their sugar content. All grapes are harvested by hand and processed into wine under the supervision of the winemakers. Vigneti del Salento cultivates grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Montepulciano, Primitivo, and Merlot.
