Curtain up for the new Apulia cooperation from Farnese Vini! The masters of the top price-performance ratio from the Abruzzo region have been active in Apulia for several years, and now they have found a new, high-performing partner in Vigneti del Salento. The portfolio covers the entire spectrum of wines that the Salento peninsula, the heel of the "Italian boot," has to offer. This includes pleasantly light, fresh, and wonderfully Mediterranean white and rosé wines as well as spirited reds. Farnese Vini contributes the know-how and has a very competent chief oenologist at its disposal in Filippo Baccalaro.
The I Muri Primitivo presents itself deep dark violet in the glass. On the nose, intense, complex fruity aromas come to the fore with a hint of small red fruits, such as cherries and blackberries. This wine has a velvety texture and possesses soft and warm-seeming tannins with a long finish.

It is powerful, but not heavy: deep dark color, intense aromas of cherry and blackberry, velvety texture, and soft tannins with a long finish. Typical Salento — warm, ripe, with Mediterranean character.
Is the I Muri Primitivo dry?
Yes, it is vinified dry. The ripe fruit can suggest a hint of sweetness, but it comes without residual sugar — this is a classic characteristic of the variety for Primitivo.
What does the wine pair best with?
Lamb, braised dishes, and game are the most obvious companions. But hearty pasta or a good pizza with strong toppings also work well — the wine handles spice and roasted aromas.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Between 16 and 18 °C. Served too warm, it loses freshness; too cold, the tannins seem edgier. Taking it out of the cellar shortly before serving is usually enough.
How long does the bottle keep after opening?
Thanks to the high alcohol content (14% ABV) and the dense fruit, it keeps well for two to three days after opening — sealed and stored cool. A vacuum stopper extends this a bit more.
The Winery
Vigneti del Salento is an Italian winery located in the Apulia region. The prevailing climate facilitates the development of the grapes through temperature fluctuations between day and night and the proximity to the sea.
In addition, the grapes partially dry out due to the intense heat, which increases their sugar content. All grapes are harvested by hand and processed into wines under the supervision of the employed winemakers. Grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Montepulciano, Primitivo, and Merlot are grown at Vigneti del Salento.
