Amai Rosé Susumaniello

A rosé with character from southern Italy: fresh red fruit, a lively acid structure and the typical expression of the Susumaniello grape, which has been cultivated in Apulia for centuries.

Feudi di San Marzano is one of Puglia's most renowned wineries. This estate from the Meschia region has focused for years on indigenous grape varieties—including Primitivo and Negroamaro—and is bringing Susumaniello, one of Puglia's rarest and oldest grapes, into the spotlight. This grape is known for its natural freshness and vibrant color.

In the glass, the Amai shines a clear cherry-red pink. The nose offers aromas of sour cherry and raspberry, with a hint of pomegranate blossom. On the palate, it remains light and airy, its acidity carrying it through to a clean, fruity finish. Luca Maroni awarded it 96 points —a remarkable rating for a rosé in this price range.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Pairs well with prawns with lemon butter, light pasta dishes with tomatoes, or a plate of Apulian antipasti. Also enjoyable as an aperitif on a warm evening.

Feudi di San Marzano

What nineteen winegrowing families from San Marzano di San Giuseppe sealed with a handshake in 1962 is today one of the most renowned names in Apulia: Feudi di San Marzano. Around 1,500 winegrowers cultivate more than 1,200 hectares of vines together in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, many of them still using the traditional Alberello system – the bush-trained vines that have defined the character of Salento for generations. The red limestone soil, the sun, and the sea breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas shape wines that are powerful yet precise. Every grape is harvested by hand, and chemical fertilizers are strictly avoided.
