F Negroamaro Salento

This robust, full-bodied red wine, made entirely from the local Negroamaro grape variety, is a remarkable example of sustainable winemaking in Puglia. Following gentle hand-harvesting in small crates, the grapes undergo extended maceration. Eighty percent of the harvest macerates for 18 days, while the remaining 20 percent macerates with wild yeasts for 25 days, both at controlled temperatures between 24-26°C. The must is then pressed and transferred to barriques, where malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine then matures for eight months in these new French and Caucasian oak barriques before bottling and further aging for six months before release. Color: Deep, dense purplish-red. Aroma: The nose offers the typical fruity and spicy aromas of southern Italian red wines. Notes of cherry jam and blackberry. Taste: On the palate, the "F" is very powerful and muscular. Present yet soft tannins harmonize with finely integrated acidity. The spicy aromas and fruity components are fully expressed. Duemilavini 2012: 5 grapes for the 2009 vintage; highest award Luca Maroni: 97 points

Feudi di San Marzano

What nineteen winegrowing families from San Marzano di San Giuseppe sealed with a handshake in 1962 is today one of the most renowned names in Apulia: Feudi di San Marzano. Around 1,500 winegrowers cultivate more than 1,200 hectares of vines together in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, many of them still using the traditional Alberello system – the bush-trained vines that have defined the character of Salento for generations. The red limestone soil, the sun, and the sea breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas shape wines that are powerful yet precise. Every grape is harvested by hand, and chemical fertilizers are strictly avoided.
