I Tratturi Rosso del Salento IGP
In the region around the town of San Marzano, located almost at the southern tip of Puglia, vines have been cultivated for over 2000 years – a tradition that the San Marzano cooperative respectfully honors in all its wines. This modern cooperative winery produces renowned wines from local grape varieties. At almost 100 meters above sea level, with high average temperatures and very little rainfall throughout the year, the vines thrive year after year. The soil consists mainly of clay, which retains sufficient water during the dry summer months. I Tratturi is the new line from Feudi di San Marzano, offering unbeatable value for money. Color: dark ruby red with violet reflections. Aroma: full aromas of ripe plums and cherries. Taste: spicy character with hints of rosemary and vanilla. Full-bodied, balanced, and robust.

What nineteen winegrowing families from San Marzano di San Giuseppe sealed with a handshake in 1962 is today one of the most renowned names in Apulia: Feudi di San Marzano. Around 1,500 winegrowers cultivate more than 1,200 hectares of vines together in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, many of them still using the traditional Alberello system – the bush-trained vines that have defined the character of Salento for generations. The red limestone soil, the sun, and the sea breezes between the Adriatic and Ionian Seas shape wines that are powerful yet precise. Every grape is harvested by hand, and chemical fertilizers are strictly avoided.
