Mira Luna – the name sounds like night, moonlight, and the quiet rustling of the vineyards. Coming from France, this winery stands for wines that tell more than just their vintage. These are wines that you don't just drink, but that make you pause for a moment – as if you were actually looking over quiet rows of vines under a clear night sky.

What excites us about Mira Luna is the palpable signature behind every drop. Here, wine is not vinified for mass taste, but with a view to the place, the vine, and the moment. Every bottle seems like the result of a conscious decision rather than a compromise – characterized by patience in the vineyard and restraint in the cellar, so that in the end exactly what the landscape itself has to say ends up in the glass.

Let yourself be surprised by these wines – preferably with a good glass in your hand when the evening slowly gets cooler and there is time for the quiet tones. Mira Luna is not a wine for a quick sip in between, but for moments when you take the time to taste carefully.

About Domaine Mira Luna

From Miraval to Mira Luna: a piece of land with a long history

Domaine Mira Luna is located on the territory that once belonged to the legendary Miraval estate — the property that jazz composer Jacques Loussier shaped and that attracted artists like Pink Floyd. In 1992, American entrepreneur Tom Bove acquired the entire site and began producing organically certified Provence wine there. When he sold Miraval in 2008, he kept about 100 hectares of the highest, most secluded part — and christened it Mira Luna, the wonderful moon disk. Since March 2023, Anne-Cécile and Antoine Samaille, a French entrepreneurial couple with a distinct passion for the gustatory, have continued to run the Domaine. Their winery is located on the Lieu-dit Vireiguet, wedged between the medieval villages of Correns and Châteauvert in the Provence Verte.

Biodynamics at 350 meters: working to the rhythm of day and night

The Domaine belongs to the Natura 2000 protected area Val d'Argens — deer, hares and eagles are more frequently encountered here than visitors. On this terrain of red-ochre clay-limestone soil, Anne-Cécile and Antoine Samaille cultivate 8 hectares of vineyards as well as 900 olive trees, certified in organic farming and managed according to biodynamic principles — the organic certification has existed since 2008, i.e., from the first day under the name Mira Luna. Decisive for the style of the wines is the altitude of around 350 meters: the temperature difference between hot summer days and cool nights reaches up to 25°C and ensures aromatic grapes with lively acidity. The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand — and partly at night, to bring the fruit into the cellar as cool as possible. Each plot is vinified separately; only after tasting in December do the winemakers decide which cuvées will make up the range. In the cellar, they work with gentle whole-bunch pressing, exclusively the first press juice and maturation on the fine lees.

Rolle, Syrah, Cinsault — and olive oil from 900 trees

The heart of the range is single-varietal and blended white wines from Rolle as well as rosé wines that combine Syrah and Cinsault, under the appellations Coteaux Varois en Provence and Côtes de Provence. Added to this is a Rolle cuvée that is aged in amphorae — a sign of the winery's artisanal ambition. The Coteaux Varois rosé was awarded as the best rosé in the world (Grand Or) at the Mondial du Rosé of the Vinalies Internationales 2025 and received silver medals at the Decanter and Mundus Vini in 2026. In addition to the wines, single-varietal olive oils from Bouteillan and Frantoio are produced at the Domaine, both produced in organic farming and cold-pressed. The low yields and limited bottling quantities are intentional: Mira Luna sees itself as a direct producer that controls every bottle from the soil to the label.

Domaine Mira Luna —
Côtes de Provence with a signature

Domaine Mira Luna is located in the Côtes de Provence, one of the most aromatic wine regions in the south of France, where limestone, slate, and the Mediterranean climate shape the character of the vines. The winery consciously vinifies against the grain: no adaptation to mass taste, but wines that honestly reflect the place, the location, and the vintage.

Behind every drop is a palpable winemaker's signature — this is evident in the cellar as well as in the vineyard. The grapes are harvested with a view to ripeness and origin, and the vinification follows the rhythm of the fruit, not the dictate of demand. The result is wines with depth and independence that show themselves differently in the second glass than in the first.

In the Vinoscout range, you will find a selection of the most convincing cuvées from Mira Luna — from fresh rosé wines, as they have characterized Provence for generations, to structured reds that deserve time in the glass. Ideal with Provençal cuisine, grilled lamb, or a mature goat cheese from the region.
