Domaines Ott

Domaines Ott is a French winery located in Provence, in the south of the country. Founded in 1836 by Marcel Ott, it is now owned and managed by Jean-François and Christian Ott. The estate comprises three small vineyards (Château de Selle, Los Mireille, and Château Romassan) with a total vineyard area of over 200 hectares. Grape varieties cultivated for the wines include Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Since 2004, Domaines Ott has been part of the Louis Roederer group.

Domaines Ott is one of the most renowned names in Provence – not because of loud marketing, but because the wines have spoken for themselves for generations. Marcel Ott laid the foundation in 1896 when he began systematically developing the region's scattered vineyards. Today, Jean-François and Christian Ott continue the legacy, which is spread across three independent estates: Château de Selle in the hinterland of Taradeau, Clos Mireille right on the coast near La Londe-les-Maures, and Château Romassan in the heart of the Bandol appellation.

Each of the three estates brings its own distinct terroir: sandy coastal soils at Clos Mireille, which lend freshness and salinity to the white wines; calcareous slopes in Taradeau, for structured rosé wines; and the clay-rich soils of Bandol, where Mourvèdre develops its full depth. In total, Domaines Ott cultivates more than 200 hectares of vineyards – planted with Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Since 2004, the estate has been part of Louis Roederer, but this has not altered its independence in the vineyard and cellar.

Domaines Ott wines are equally suited to a long lunch outdoors as they are to bouillabaisse, grilled sea bass, or a mature goat cheese from Provence.
