Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Folatières'

Puligny-Montrachet is considered a benchmark for great white Burgundy — and Les Folatières is one of the Premier Crus that demonstrates why. This Chardonnay from Louis Jadot combines the typical minerality of the village with a structure that will last for years.

Louis Jadot is one of the most renowned négociant houses of the Côte d'Or, based in Beaune since 1859. Its cellars beneath the town and a consistent approach to both vineyard and cellar have secured its reputation. Les Folatières is located in the northern part of Puligny, on calcareous clay-limestone soil—a site known for its freshness and length.

In the glass, it displays a bright golden yellow. The nose opens with aromas of white peach, citrus blossom, and a hint of hazelnut. On the palate, a firm acidity carries the wine through—not a broad, buttery, opulent profile, but rather precision. The finish is long, mineral, with a touch of flint. Drinking window: now until 2030+, with aging potential for more patient wine lovers.

Recommendation: Serve at 12–13 °C. Pairs well with scallops with butter sauce, oven-baked turbot, mild goat cheese, or a classic chicken à la crème.
