Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Folatières'

Puligny-Montrachet is considered a reference point for great white Burgundy — and Les Folatières is one of the Premier Crus that show why. This Chardonnay from Louis Jadot combines the typical minerality of the village with a structure that lasts for years.

Louis Jadot is one of the most famous négociant houses of the Côte d'Or, based in Beaune since 1859. The cellars under the city and a consistent approach in the vineyard and cellar have secured the house its reputation. Les Folatières is located in the northern part of Puligny, on calcareous clay-limestone soil — a site known for freshness and length.

In the glass, it shows a light golden yellow. The nose opens with white peach, citrus blossom, and a hint of hazelnut. On the palate, a taut acidic structure carries the wine through — not a broad, buttery-opulent profile, but precision. The finish is long, mineral, with a hint of flint. With aging potential for the more patient.

Recommendation: Served at 12–13 °C. Pairs with scallops with butter sauce, oven-baked turbot, mild goat cheese, or a classic poulet à la crème.
