Nuits-Saint-Georges

Nuits-Saint-Georges
Nuits-Saint-Georges is one of the most characterful appellations of the Côte de Nuits — and Louis Jadot, one of the most significant négociant houses in Burgundy, shows here what classic vinification means.
The house, founded in 1859 in Beaune, works with grapes from carefully selected sites and relies on traditional cellar work: controlled fermentation, aging in Burgundy barrels, and long maturation. The result is wines that remain true to the style of the appellation — structured, with Burgundian finesse.
In the glass, it shows a deep dark ruby red. On the nose, blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of licorice, underpinned by earth and subtle roasted notes from the oak aging. On the palate, medium to full body, firm but ripe tannins, lively acidity — the typical framework of a Nuits-Saint-Georges. The finish is long, spicy, and slightly peppery.
Serving suggestion: Best served at 16–17 °C. Pairs with roast beef, game ragout, or a ripe Époisses. Even more accessible with some time in the cellar.
