Pouilly-Fuissé, Louis Jadot

Pouilly-Fuissé, Louis Jadot
Pouilly-Fuissé is the most famous white wine of southern Burgundy — and Louis Jadot's version shows why the appellation deserves this reputation: a single-varietal Chardonnay, partly fermented in barriques, with a depth that one does not necessarily expect here.
Louis Jadot has been one of the leading négociant houses of Burgundy since 1859. From Beaune, the house works with vineyards across the Côte d'Or and the Mâconnais — the Pouilly-Fuissé comes from the communes of Pouilly and Fuissé at the foot of the Solutré rock, on calcareous clay and loam soil.
In the glass, it displays ripe pear, white peach, and a hint of roasted hazelnut from oak aging. The acidity is present but integrated—not an angular wine, but one with a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. The finish offers a delicate mineral echo of limestone.
