Niepoort Ruby Port

A classic Ruby Port from Niepoort – fruity, direct and with the typical character of the Douro in the bottle.

The Niepoort family winery is among the most prestigious port wine houses in the world. Owned by a Dutch-Portuguese family since 1842, Niepoort produces port in Vila Nova de Gaia – directly opposite Porto. The house style: precise vinification, minimal intervention, and a strong focus on origin.

The Ruby matures for around three years in used small wooden barrels . The limited oxygen contact keeps the fruit vibrant: dark cherry, blackberry, and a hint of plum dominate the nose. On the palate, it is juicy and medium-bodied, with mineral nuances in the background and a pleasantly sweet, non-sticky finish.
