Niepoort Tawny Port Junior 3 Years
“There are two distinct port worlds,” explains Dirk Niepoort… the darker, fruitier “Junior” Tinto and the lighter, cherry-scented “Senior” Tawny ideally represent the two categories. Both form a pair in blue and red and are delivered in individual boxes. The Niepoort logo is positioned so that, like a puzzle, it only becomes complete when both boxes are placed side by side. This visually illustrates that Niepoort is only complete when both port categories are present. The Niepoort Junior Tawny has a subtle sweetness, is approximately three and a half years old, and matured in small wooden casks. It presents itself in a brilliant red color and offers aromas of nuts and dried fruit. This Tawny ages well, but does not gain any additional quality from it.

Niepoort Vinhos is a family-run winery based in Portugal, founded in 1842 by Franciscus Marius Niepoort. Dedicated to the production of wine and port, the company is currently managed by the fifth generation, Eduard Dirk Niepoort and Verena Niepoort. The company is headquartered in Vila Nova de Gaia, a town renowned for its port wine. In 1987, the Quinta de Napoles estate was acquired, situated on the banks of the Têdo River in the Douro region. In 1988, the Quinta de Carril estate, comprising 9 hectares of vineyards, was purchased. The company also owns Quinta de Baixo in Bairrada, Quinta da Lomba in the Dão region, and a few hectares in the Minho region, part of the Vinho Verde region.
