NatCool Trudy Port
A port wine that breaks with convention: Niepoort's NatCool Trudy Port combines the classic fruit depth of the Douro with a fresh, vibrant structure — not a heavy, sweetish dessert wine profile, but a glass with real excitement.
Niepoort is one of the most influential names in the Douro Valley. Founded in 1842, the family winery, now under the leadership of Dirk Niepoort, has established itself as a pioneer of natural winemaking and stylistically open Port wine styles. The NatCool line stands for less intervention, more freshness—and an audience that is rethinking Port wine.
On the nose, cherry and plum, along with darker plum fruit and a subtle hint of toasted wood. On the palate, juicy, with a fruit sweetness kept in check by noticeable acidity and a solid tannin structure. The wine feels lively—unusually fresh on the finish for a port.
Serve well chilled at 12–14 °C. Pairs well with dark chocolate (70% cocoa content or higher), desserts with plum or cherry, and strong blue cheeses such as Gorgonzola piccante.
