Meursault 1er Cru Charmes in HK

Meursault Premier Cru Charmes is one of the most coveted vineyards of the Côte de Beaune – and Louis Jadot's interpretation shows why: barrel fermentation and controlled aging in wood give the wine structure without crushing the fruit.

Louis Jadot is one of the most important négociant wineries in Burgundy, based in Beaune since 1859. The Charmes vineyard is located in the southern part of Meursault, where deep limestone soils produce particularly ripe, textured Chardonnays – fuller than the more northern vineyards of Perrières or Genevrières, but with a clear mineral line.

Roasted hazelnut, white peach, and a hint of brioche from the barrel aging show in the glass. The palate is full-bodied with a creamy texture, but is kept in shape by a tight acidity. The finish is long, slightly buttery with a mineral aftertaste.

Serving temperature: 12–13 °C. Pairs with lobster with beurre blanc, veal medallions in cream sauce, or mature Comté.
