Chassagne-Montrachet Grande Montagne 1er Cru HK
Chassagne-Montrachet represents the more powerful side of white Burgundy—more structure, more depth than its neighbors in Puligny. The Grande Montagne vineyard, at an altitude of 310 meters, with its limestone and clay soils, provides the ideal setting.
Louis Jadot is one of the leading wineries of the Côte de Beaune: founded in 1859, it now owns its own estate and has a network of carefully selected partnerships with winegrowers. The wines are vinified and aged in the Maison's cellars in Beaune – in classic Burgundian style, with aging in oak barrels.
In the glass, this Premier Cru displays a clear structure: ripe white peach, hazelnut, and a hint of toasted bread from the oak aging. The palate is dense, the acidity precise and long, the finish mineral with a touch of chalk. Not a lightweight Burgundy substitute—this wine showcases the full weight of the appellation.
Serving temperature 11–13 °C. Drinking window 2025–2032. Pairs well with poached turbot with beurre blanc, aged Comté cheese or lobster with tarragon butter.
