SUD Salice Salentino DOC

SUD Salice Salentino DOC
A classic southern Italian red wine that shows what Puglia's Salento peninsula is capable of: dark fruit, warmth and easy drinkability without detours.
Feudi di San Marzano is one of the renowned cooperatives in Salento that have transitioned from mass production to a more artisanal, quality-oriented approach. Their Salice Salentino DOC is traditionally based on Negroamaro – a grape variety that, in the Apulian heat, provides color and body, combined with a characteristic bitter almond note on the finish.
In the glass, it displays a deep, dark red color with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by ripe black cherry and plum, accompanied by a warm, slightly spicy note. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with soft tannins and a rounded, fruit-forward finish – uncomplicated and pleasant to drink.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Goes well with
- grilled lamb chops with herbs
- Pasta al ragù or orecchiette with sausages
- ripe Pecorino or Caciocavallo
