Nova Domus Terlaner Cuvée DOC Riserva Magnum

The Nova Domus Riserva is the flagship wine of the Terlan winery – a white wine cuvée from the heart of South Tyrol that shows how long white wines from this region can age.

The Terlan winery was founded in 1893 and is today one of Italy's most prestigious cooperatives. The vines grow on volcanic porphyry and quartz porphyry soils around Terlan, at altitudes of up to 900 meters. Cool nights, intense sunshine, and these mineral-rich soils shape the distinctive style of the wines. The Nova Domus Riserva is made from the best grapes of the vintage – fermented and aged 50% in tonneau and 50% in large wooden casks.

In the glass, the cuvée opens with aromas of ripe apricot, passion fruit, and a hint of vanilla from the oak aging. On the palate, it is powerful yet precise: the acidity carries the wine, and a slightly mineral undertone lingers through to the long, warm finish. Typical for a white wine Riserva from South Tyrol – plenty of substance, but no heaviness.

Serving temperature 12–14 °C. Drinking window until 2030+. Pairs well with veal medallions with morels, lobster bisque, or strong mountain cheese from the Vinschgau Valley. The magnum bottle ages particularly evenly and is ideal for special occasions at the table.

Cantina Terlan

Since 1893, the Terlan winery in South Tyrol's Adige Valley has stood for something that has become rare in modern winemaking: patience. What was once founded by 24 winegrowers as a cooperative to emancipate themselves from large landowners is today one of the most prestigious addresses in Alpine winemaking. Cellar master Rudi Kofler, who has shaped the winery since 2002, continues a philosophy established by his predecessor Sebastian Stocker in the 1970s: extended lees aging, consistent focus on quality over quantity, and a legendary wine archive of around 100,000 bottles dating back to 1955. Terlan proves that white wines from volcanic porphyry soil and an Alpine microclimate can be among the longest-lived in the world.
