Cantina Terlan Siebeneich Merlot DOC Riserva

The bouquet of this robust single-vineyard Merlot is reminiscent of ripe fruit: aromas of red berry compote, fresh blackberries, and black cherries make the Siebeneich a very full-bodied red wine with fruity notes. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks; controlled fermentation with gentle skin contact; malolactic fermentation and aging occur in large wooden casks (70%) and barriques (30%). The Siebeneich vineyard near Terlan (250-300 m above sea level) is one of South Tyrol's best Merlot sites and is characterized by medium-weight, sandy loam soils. The Cantina

Since 1893, the Terlan winery in the South Tyrolean Adige Valley has stood for what has become rare in modern viticulture: patience. What 24 winegrowers once founded as a cooperative is today one of the most renowned addresses in alpine viticulture.

The house's philosophy focuses on long yeast aging and consistent quality instead of quantity. Terlan proves that white wines from volcanic porphyry soil and an alpine microclimate can be among the longest-lived in the world.
