Vorberg Pinot Bianco DOC Riserva

The Vorberg is Terlan's flagship among the Pinot Blancs — a Riserva that shows what Pinot Bianco can achieve in South Tyrol when it gets time and the right site.

Weingut Terlan has been producing in the municipality of the same name north of Bolzano since 1893. The cooperative is one of the most renowned in South Tyrol and is known above all for its long-lived white wines. The Vorberg comes from a high-altitude steep slope above Terlan — cool nights, plenty of sun during the day, barren porphyry and quartz soils. These conditions slow down ripening and concentrate the aromas.

In the glass, it shows ripe pear, yellow apple, and a hint of beeswax, underscored by a subtle wood note from the barrique aging. The body is dense and full-bodied, the acidity integrated and creamy — not an adrenaline rush, but a long, sustained finish with a slight almond note. A white wine that is in no hurry.

Serving temperature: 12–14 °C. Goes well with veal medallions with porcini mushrooms, ripe mountain cheese, or a creamy risotto with white truffle.
