Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum

Montes Alpha Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum
A Cabernet Sauvignon that shows what the Colchagua Valley can do: dark fruit, structure and depth — in a 1.5-liter magnum with exceptional aging potential.
Montes has been one of Chile's leading wineries since the early 1990s. The Alpha line comes from hillside vineyards in the Colchagua Valley, one of South America's finest Cabernet Sauvignon regions. A dry climate, cool nights, and well-drained soils produce concentrated grapes with a natural acidity. The wine is aged in French oak, some of it new.
In the glass, the 2021 vintage displays aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant, along with cedarwood, dark chocolate, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with ripe, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity, and a long, spicy finish.
Drinking window: now until 2030; the magnum bottle slows down the aging process—easily ready until 2033. Serving temperature: 17–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled beef steak , leg of lamb with rosemary, ossobuco, or strong hard cheeses like Manchego.
