Bichat Frères Beaujolais Villages Nouveau

A Beaujolais Nouveau for drinking, not for discussing: fresh, uncomplicated, straight from autumn to the table.

Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus is one of France's great négociant houses. Behind the Bichat Frères label lies the classic Beaujolais Villages concept: Gamay grapes from the 38 authorized communes north of Villefranche-sur-Saône, vinified using carbonic maceration—the process that makes the typical Nouveau style possible. The grapes ferment as whole berries, which preserves tannins and allows the fruit to take center stage.

In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red color. The nose offers red currant, cherry, a hint of banana—the characteristic aroma of carbonic fermentation—and a touch of licorice. On the palate, it is light-bodied, with a soft texture and manageable acidity. With a little aeration, it opens up and reveals a pleasant, short finish.

Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus

It would have been easier to rest on their laurels. But the Castell family thinks ahead. They preserve their expertise, pass on their passion to the next generation, and cultivate their châteaux and estates with joy and vision. For them, wine is more than a product: it's about culture. About sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas with chefs, sommeliers, and all those who love good taste. Producing regional wines and Grands Crus is one thing. Another is keeping nothing to themselves. Sustainably, responsibly, and with heart. Because at Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus, they live by the conviction that wine must follow its own vision. Persistently, boldly, and with a flame that carries on – from generation to generation.
