Château Barreyres, with its approximately 240 hectares, is a jewel of culture in the Medoc. The gentle hills between Arcins and the Gironde, which offer a view of the river, are among the best vineyard sites.
The wine is characterized by its noble aromas of black cherry and currants. Finely integrated tannins and a long finish, reminiscent of black berries, cherries, and strawberries, result in a harmonious profile that lingers for a long time.

How does the Château Barreyres Haut-Médoc taste?
Dry red wine with aromas of black cherry and currant, finely integrated tannins, and a long finish with notes of black berries and strawberry. Classic Bordeaux style, without rough edges.
What does the wine pair best with?
It makes a good impression alongside beef and lamb as well as with braised dishes or game. Ibérico pork from the grill also pairs well — the wine can handle strong roasted aromas.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Between 16 and 18 °C. If it was stored in the cellar or refrigerator, feel free to take it out 30 minutes beforehand — served too cold, the tannins appear stricter than they are.
Is it worth opening a bottle before drinking?
A brief decanting of 20–30 minutes helps to open up the fruit and make the wine appear somewhat rounder. It is not mandatory, but it does not hurt.
How do I store the wine correctly?
Lying down at a constant 12–16 °C, dark and vibration-free. Strong temperature fluctuations and direct heat sources are its greatest enemies.
Is this a wine for special occasions or more for everyday life?
Both work. As a Cru Bourgeois from the Haut-Médoc, it brings clear Bordeaux quality without the price of a Cru Classé. Good for a Sunday dinner, but not just an occasional wine.
