Tour Prignac Grande Reserve Médoc

Bordeaux classic from the Médoc, without detours: The Tour Prignac Grande Réserve combines power with suppleness — a red wine that immediately brings joy and yet brings substance with it.

Château Tour Prignac is one of the largest domaines in the Bordelais with around 300 hectares and ranks in the top league of Cru Bourgeois estates in the Médoc. Behind the winery is Castel, one of the most significant wine groups in France. In the Médoc, this means: classic Cabernet Sauvignon-emphasized assemblage, consistently geared towards structure and storage capability.

Twelve months of aging in French oak barrels shape the character: In the nose, dark blackberry and cassis, supplemented by cocoa and a hint of roasted coffee bean. On the palate, velvety tannins, medium body, good length. The finish is round, with a slightly spicy note that cleanly reflects the wood aging. No sharp tannins, no exaggerated wood — the wine remains balanced. For the 2015 vintage, Wine Enthusiast awarded 92 points.

Drinking temperature 16–18 °C. Goes well with braised beef, leg of lamb with rosemary, or a strong grated cheese like Cantal.

Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus

It would have been easier to rest on their laurels. But the Castell family thinks ahead. They preserve their expertise, pass on their passion to the next generation, and cultivate their châteaux and estates with joy and vision. For them, wine is more than a product: it's about culture. About sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas with chefs, sommeliers, and all those who love good taste. Producing regional wines and Grands Crus is one thing. Another is keeping nothing to themselves. Sustainably, responsibly, and with heart. Because at Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus, they live by the conviction that wine must follow its own vision. Persistently, boldly, and with a flame that carries on – from generation to generation.
