Malesan Crémant de Bordeaux Brut

A classic Bordeaux sparkling wine made using the traditional method: fresh, dry, with fine bubbles – for those who prefer Crémant to Champagne without sacrificing substance.

Behind Malesan is Castel, one of France's largest wine companies with deep roots in Bordeaux. The grapes, including Sémillon as the defining variety, are harvested by hand. After traditional bottle fermentation, the Crémant matures on the lees for at least 12 months – significantly longer than the legal minimum of 9 months for the appellation.

In the glass, it's pale yellow with a fine mousse. The nose reveals white pear, lemon zest, and a hint of brioche from the lees. On the palate, it's dry, with lively acidity and pleasant freshness; the finish is clean and medium-long. Not a heavy sparkling wine – rather a light and easy-drinking style, perfect for everyday enjoyment.

Serving temperature: 7–9 °C. Enjoy as an aperitif, with seafood, goat cheese, or light fish dishes. Also a good choice as an approachable alternative to Champagne for larger gatherings.

Horst B.

Very good choice.

Tasted very good to everyone in a convivial round. Better than champagne, as it has less carbon dioxide. Can you recommend a good red wine from France (Cotes du rhone ? ) Horst Brill
