Tour Prignac Grande Reserve Médoc

Bordeaux classic from the Médoc, without detours: The Tour Prignac Grande Réserve combines power with smoothness — a red wine that brings immediate pleasure and yet has substance.

Château Tour Prignac, with approximately 300 hectares, is one of the largest Domaines in Bordeaux and ranks among the top Cru Bourgeois estates in the Médoc. Behind the winery is Castel, one of France's most important wine groups. In the Médoc, this translates to a classic Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend, consistently focused on structure and aging potential.

Twelve months of aging in French oak barrels shape the character: On the nose, dark blackberry and cassis, complemented by cocoa and a hint of roasted coffee bean. On the palate, velvety tannins, medium body, and good length. The finish is rounded, with a slightly spicy note that clearly reflects the oak aging. No harsh tannins, no excessive oak—the wine remains balanced. Wine Enthusiast awarded the 2015 vintage 92 points.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with braised beef, leg of lamb with rosemary, or a strong grated cheese such as Cantal. Best enjoyed by 2027.

Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus

It would have been easier to rest on their laurels. But the Castell family thinks ahead. They preserve their expertise, pass on their passion to the next generation, and cultivate their châteaux and estates with joy and vision. For them, wine is more than a product: it's about culture. About sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas with chefs, sommeliers, and all those who love good taste. Producing regional wines and Grands Crus is one thing. Another is keeping nothing to themselves. Sustainably, responsibly, and with heart. Because at Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus, they live by the conviction that wine must follow its own vision. Persistently, boldly, and with a flame that carries on – from generation to generation.
