Kiefer Beyond Borders Red Wine Cuvée Dry BiB 3.0L

Seven grape varieties, one direction: This red wine cuvée from Baden combines Prior, Dakapo, Dornfelder, Cabernet Mitos, Cabernet Noir, Pinotin and Frühburgunder into a dark, complex red wine in a practical 3-liter bag-in-box format.

The Kiefer winery from Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl works with a wide range of robust and resistant grape varieties – many of which are so-called PIWI varieties that require less plant protection. The cuvée “Über Grenzen gehen” (Going Beyond Limits) is the expression of this approach: not a classic single-varietal wine, but a blend that combines the strengths of each grape variety.

In the glass, a deep dark red with violet reflections. On the nose, blackberry and blackcurrant, along with a spicy, slightly peppery note. On the palate, ripe, well-integrated tannins, medium body, dry finish. Not heavy, but structured enough for the table.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with pasta with meat sauce, grilled sausages, or a hearty lentil stew. Once opened, the bag-in-box stays fresh for up to six weeks – ideal for everyday use or gatherings.

The Friedrich Kiefer winery in Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl looks back on a history that began in 1851 – founded by a teacher from the Markgräflerland region who passionately dedicated himself to what was then a completely new endeavor. Since 2008, the winery has been run by Helene, a certified oenologist, and Martin, a certified engineer, who cultivates over 100 hectares of vines on the characteristic volcanic weathering rock and loess of the Kaiserstuhl region, together with long-standing partner winegrowers. Their motto is "Wine / Style / Performance" – and this is reflected both in their meticulously crafted wines and in labels that inspire enjoyment rather than mere show.
