Sommeracher Weissburgunder dry
A Pinot Blanc from Sommerach in Franconia – approachable, fresh, and requiring no great patience. Ready to drink, immediately good.
Winzer Sommerach is a traditional cooperative located on the Volkach Main River bend, one of the warmest wine-growing regions in Franconia. The region's limestone soil shapes the wines: clearly structured, with natural freshness and a distinctive mineral foundation. Pinot Blanc is a flagship variety here – it benefits from the limestone and the continental climate.
In the glass, this Pinot Blanc displays aromas of white peach and citrus peel, along with a light floral scent. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with moderate acidity and a pleasant smoothness – a wine that doesn't impose itself but makes a solid companion. The finish is short to medium-long and clean.
- Dishes: Pasta with cream sauce, vegetable quiche, fried pike-perch or everyday cooking with fresh herbs
- Temperature: 10–12 °C
- Drinking window: Now – uncomplicated drinking enjoyment without waiting

Winzer Sommerach is the oldest winegrowers' cooperative in Franconia – founded in 1901 by 35 winegrowing families who joined forces to survive during a time of phylloxera infestation and plummeting prices. Today, 90 families carry on this tradition, cultivating around 200 hectares on the Main River loop and tending the Sommeracher Katzenkopf vineyard, one of the most important sites in the region. Their motto, "High standards make the difference," is not just a slogan: every bottle can be traced back to a specific winegrower and their vineyard – transparency and community as a lived principle for over 120 years.
