Winzer Sommerach Escherndorfer Silvaner dry

Winzer Sommerach Escherndorfer Silvaner dry
A classic Franconian Silvaner: dry, firm, with an earthy substance – the type of wine that really blossoms when paired with food.
The Sommerach winegrowers are one of the oldest winegrowers' cooperatives in Franconia, rooted in the Volkach Main bend since 1901. The Escherndorfer comes from one of the best-known Silvaner-growing communities in the region – Escherndorf, with its steep, limestone-dominated slopes, is considered one of the best locations for this leading Franconian grape variety.
In the glass, it displays the typical Silvaner profile: pear and apricot on the nose, accompanied by a slightly spicy, almost floral note. The palate is characterized by a clear, lively acidity – fresh without harshness – and a fine, creamy texture that makes the wine feel well-rounded despite its dryness. The finish is medium-long, with a light minerality reminiscent of chalk.
Serving suggestion: It unfolds its full potential best when served well chilled at 10–12 °C. It pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, pan-fried trout, mild goat cheese, or a light vegetable risotto. It also makes a fine accompaniment to Franconian classics such as bratwurst or Schäufele (pork shoulder).
