Winzer Sommerach Sommerlust Silvaner dry

An uncomplicated Franconian Silvaner that delivers exactly what its name promises: fresh, light drinking pleasure for warm days.

The Sommerach winegrowers are a cooperative located on the Volkach Main bend in Franconia – one of Germany's classic Silvaner vineyards. Calcareous marl soils and the continental climate of the Main Valley shape a grape variety that is more at home in Franconia than anywhere else: spicy, dry, and straightforward.

Sommerlust showcases the approachable side of Silvaner: green apple, mirabelle plum, and a hint of ripe pear on the nose, accompanied by a light herbal note. On the palate, it is lean and fresh, with lively acidity and a clean, short finish without bitterness.

Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, light summer salads, or grilled shrimp. Also a good choice as a casual aperitif on the patio – best enjoyed in the year following the vintage.

Winzer Sommerach

Winzer Sommerach is the oldest winegrowers' cooperative in Franconia – founded in 1901 by 35 winegrowing families who joined forces to survive during a time of phylloxera infestation and plummeting prices. Today, 90 families carry on this tradition, cultivating around 200 hectares on the Main River loop and tending the Sommeracher Katzenkopf vineyard, one of the most important sites in the region. Their motto, "High standards make the difference," is not just a slogan: every bottle can be traced back to a specific winegrower and their vineyard – transparency and community as a lived principle for over 120 years.
