Sommeracher Weissburgunder dry

Sommeracher Weissburgunder dry
A Pinot Blanc from Sommerach in Franconia – accessible, fresh, and without great demands for patience. Ready to drink immediately, good immediately.
Winzer Sommerach is a traditional cooperative on the Volkach Main loop, one of the warmest wine regions in Franconia. The region's shell limestone soil shapes the wines: clearly structured, with natural freshness and an independent mineral foundation. Pinot Blanc is a flagship discipline here – the variety benefits from the limestone and the continental climate.
In the glass, this Pinot Blanc shows aromas of white peach and citrus zest, plus a light floral scent. On the palate, it has medium weight, moderate acidity, and pleasant creaminess – a wine that does not push itself forward but provides solid company. The finish is short to medium-length and clean.
- Food: Pasta with cream sauce, vegetable quiche, fried zander, or everyday cuisine with fresh herbs
- Temperature: 10–12 °C

Winzer Sommerach is the oldest winegrowers' cooperative in Franconia – founded in 1901 by 35 winegrowing families who joined forces to survive during a time of phylloxera infestation and plummeting prices. Today, 90 families carry on this tradition, cultivating around 200 hectares on the Main River loop and tending the Sommeracher Katzenkopf vineyard, one of the most important sites in the region. Their motto, "High standards make the difference," is not just a slogan: every bottle can be traced back to a specific winegrower and their vineyard – transparency and community as a lived principle for over 120 years.
