Domaine Lafage Deux Parcelles IGP Côtes Catalanes 2024

Deux Parcelles – Our Red Wine of the Year. Some wines aren't simply created in the cellar. They arise from encounters, from landscapes, from memories – and from that rare moment when you sense: something special is growing here. Deux Parcelles is precisely such a wine. Our Red Wine of the Year. Together with Jean-Marc Lafage, we created it in the spring of 2026 in the heart of Roussillon – as a tribute to one of France's wildest, most pristine, and at the same time most fascinating wine regions. The name says it all: two parcels, two worlds, one wine. On one side, the old vineyards in the mountains, where Roussillon gradually merges into the foothills of the Pyrenees. On the other side, the vines near the sea, shaped by salty air, cool winds, and that Mediterranean brightness that you later believe you'll find reflected in the glass. The parcels in the mountains represent a piece of family history. Over 60-year-old vines, deeply rooted in barren gneiss and granite soils, were tended by generations before Jean-Marc – by people who knew that great wines cannot be forced. They are nurtured. They are listened to. These old vines yield little fruit, but what they do give possesses incredible depth: dark berries, spice, concentration, structure, and that almost silent power that only very old vines can produce. Quite different, but equally precious, are the vineyards near the sea. Here stand vines, some over 90 years old. They have endured decades of Mediterranean summers, dry soils, and countless winds. The Mistral and the cool sea air sweep through the rows of vines, drying the grapes, preserving freshness, and imparting a special tension to the wine. These parcels do not produce abundant quantities – their yields are extremely low – but the quality is exceptional. Each grape seems condensed: sun, wind, salt, stone, and time in a single berry. From these two worlds emerged Deux Parcelles: a red wine that unites the power of the mountains with the elegance of the sea. Even in the glass, it displays a deep, dark color, almost like black ink with ruby highlights. On the nose, it unfolds in a complex and seductive way: ripe blackberries, black cherries, cassis, and dark plums mingle with notes of cocoa, roasted coffee, wild herbs, a touch of pepper, and a hint of vanilla. Nothing is loud or overpowering—everything is concentrated, sensual, and precise. On the palate, it becomes clear why we have chosen this wine as our Red Wine of the Year. It is powerful, but not heavy. Dense, but not tired. Its old vines lend it depth and richness, while the cool influences from the altitude and proximity to the sea provide freshness, vibrancy, and elegance. The tannins are soft, fine, and beautifully integrated. The wine glides across the tongue, lingers, becomes more complex with each sip, and leaves behind that rare feeling that you are not just drinking wine, but experiencing a landscape. Deux Parcelles is a wine for special evenings, for long conversations, for good food – but also for that one moment when you want to treat yourself to something truly special. It pairs perfectly with braised beef, lamb, game, Mediterranean dishes, aged cheeses, or simply for a quiet evening where the wine takes center stage. This is not just any red wine. It is the essence of two exceptional parcels of land, borne by old vines, hard work, family tradition, and the signature of Jean-Marc Lafage. A wine from the mountains to the sea. Wild, elegant, profound, and unforgettable. Deux Parcelles – our finest red wine. And perhaps the very wine you need to taste to truly understand Roussillon.
