Domaine Lafage Bastide Miraflors

Domaine Lafage Bastide Miraflors
A southern French red wine with true Roussillon character: powerful fruit, garrigue spice and soft tannins that, despite their substance, never seem heavy.
Domaine Lafage is one of the most reliable producers in the IGP Côtes Catalanes. Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage cultivate their vineyard near Perpignan, overlooking the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea—a location that provides the vineyard with both heat and cooling night air. Old Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan vines on poor, mineral-rich soils form the basis of the Bastide Miraflors cuvée.
In the glass: deep ruby red with a violet rim. On the nose, blackberry, black cherry, and a hint of licorice, underpinned by garrigue herbs—thyme, rosemary, and dry lavender. On the palate, juicy and full-bodied, the tannins ripe and well-integrated, the acidity present enough for freshness. Long, spicy finish with a touch of warmth.
Serving temperature 16–18 °C . Pairs well with grilled herb-crusted lamb, wild boar ragout, pasta all'Amatriciana, or a robust Ossau-Iraty. Also delicious on its own on the terrace—provided the evening is warm enough.
