Domaine Lafage Grain de Vignes - Muscat de Rivesaltes
Muscat de Rivesaltes is one of the most aromatic sweet wines in France — and the Grain de Vignes from Domaine Lafage shows why: light golden, fragrant, with a freshness that is not always found in this category.
Domaine Lafage is located in Roussillon, right on the Catalan border, where Tramontane winds and Mediterranean sun shape the soils. Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage cultivate around 200 hectares—the Muscat grapes for this wine are harvested by hand. After a 24-hour cold maceration, the wine undergoes gentle pressing. Fermentation with selected yeasts, continuous cooling, and early bottling protect the volatile aroma profile from oxidation.
In the glass, the wine opens with aromas of rose petals, lychee, and ripe pear, underpinned by fresh citrus notes. On the palate, it is surprisingly light-footed for a Vin Doux Naturel—sweet, yet with a lively acidity that keeps the finish clean.
