Chablis 1er Cru Fourneaux La Chablisienne

A Chablis Premier Cru from the climate-controlled area of the appellation: The Fourneaux site is located on the eastern edge of the Chablis core area, where the Kimmeridgian limestone comes particularly close to the surface. This gives the Chardonnay here its characteristic tension between fruit and minerality.

La Chablisienne is one of the most significant cooperatives in Burgundy — founded in 1923, today with around 300 winegrower families and access to some of the best sites of the appellation. The grapes for this Premier Cru come from the characteristic Kimmeridgian soils, which give the wine its typical salinity and length.

In the glass, it shows pale golden yellow. On the nose, white pear, citrus zest, and a hint of green apple, underneath a subtle flint note — the typical signature of the site. On the palate, taut, well-integrated acidity, medium body, long mineral-spicy finish.

Serving recommendation: 10–12 °C. Pairs with scallops with butter sauce, grilled sea bass, or a ripe goat cheese.
