Zenato Amarone della Valpolicella DOC Classico Riserva

A truly exceptional Amarone, produced only in outstanding vintages. Zenato employs the traditional fermentation techniques reserved for all Amarone wines. The wine then undergoes extended aging of at least four years in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by 12 months of bottle aging. Alberto Zenato is proud of this flagship wine, which only leaves the cellar on the southern shore of Lake Garda after a further year of bottle aging, before delighting connoisseurs worldwide with its refined richness. Falstaff 2020: 95 points for the 2015 vintage; Decanter 2020: Gold, 94 points for the 2015 vintage; James Suckling 2020: 98 points for the 2015 vintage; Wine Spectator 2020: 94 points for the 2015 vintage; Wine Advocate writer Antonio Galloni recommends that his readers "make every effort to taste the wines of this great vintage."

Sergio Zenato

The winery was founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato and, following his death, is now run by his wife and children. Located south of Lake Garda, the family business owns 75 hectares of vineyards, including those in the Valpolicella and Lugana regions, which are among the finest. Grape varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, Trebbiano, Merlot, Garganego, and Chardonnay are cultivated on the mineral-rich soils. The optimal microclimate in this region provides the necessary conditions for producing grapes of exceptional quality. Sergio Zenato exports its wines throughout Italy, across Europe, and now even to the USA. Approximately two million bottles of wine are produced annually.
