Zenato Ripassa della Valpolicella DOC Superiore

"Ripassa" is the name Zenato gave to its unique Valpolicella Superiore, which is refined through a second fermentation on Amarone pomace. This elaborate Ripasso process results in exceptional color depth and intense, supple fruit, which, after 18 months of aging in oak barrels and a further 6 months of bottle aging, achieves tremendous richness and elegance. The wide range of aromas and the silky texture, extending into the long finish, are truly impressive. Ripassa represents a major milestone in the Zenato family's winemaking history, impressively evidenced by the high ratings from renowned wine critics. Sergio Zenato

The winery was founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato and, following his death, is now run by his wife and children. Located south of Lake Garda, the family business owns 75 hectares of vineyards, including those in the Valpolicella and Lugana regions, which are among the finest. Grape varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, Trebbiano, Merlot, Garganego, and Chardonnay are cultivated on the mineral-rich soils. The optimal microclimate in this region provides the necessary conditions for producing grapes of exceptional quality. Sergio Zenato exports its wines throughout Italy, across Europe, and now even to the USA. Approximately two million bottles of wine are produced annually.
