Winzer Sommerach Blau Miau Rosé

A rosé that combines Franconian directness with great drinkability – clearly structured, dry and without heaviness.

The Sommerach winegrowers are among the largest cooperatives in Franconia. On the Volkach Main River bend, where Muschelkalk limestone and Keuper marl characterize the subsoil, around 300 winegrowing families have been cultivating wine together for decades. Valentin Rosé is their approachable line – named after the patron saint of the Sommerach chapel.

In the glass, this blend of Schwarzriesling and Spätburgunder displays a pale salmon pink hue. The nose offers aromas of raspberry, a hint of quince, and a touch of pomegranate. On the palate, it is fresh, with crisp acidity and a lean body – no residual sugar to hold it back, and a clean, short finish.

Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C . Pairs well with lentil salad with bacon, pan-fried trout, light pasta dishes, or as a simple summer beverage on the patio.

Winzer Sommerach

Winzer Sommerach is the oldest winegrowers' cooperative in Franconia – founded in 1901 by 35 winegrowing families who joined forces to survive during a time of phylloxera infestation and plummeting prices. Today, 90 families carry on this tradition, cultivating around 200 hectares on the Main River loop and tending the Sommeracher Katzenkopf vineyard, one of the most important sites in the region. Their motto, "High standards make the difference," is not just a slogan: every bottle can be traced back to a specific winegrower and their vineyard – transparency and community as a lived principle for over 120 years.
