Turriga IGT Isola dei Nuraghi rosso 1.5L

The Turriga is the top wine from Argiolas and shows how much depth and structure a Sardinian red wine can have. This magnum bottle (1.5 l) is suitable for larger dinner parties and special evenings.

The Argiolas winery works with indigenous varieties in Sardinia. The Turriga carries the IGT Isola dei Nuraghi designation and is a blend of Cannonau, Carignano, Bovale Sardo, and Malvasia Nera. The maceration takes place at 28–32 °C and lasts about 16–18 days, using the délestage technique. The wine then matures in French oak barrels.

In the glass, it shows an intense, deep red color. The bouquet is rich and complex; on the palate, there are structured tannins and good balance. The wine is vinified dry and has noticeable expressive power. Recommendation: Serve at 16–18 °C and open the bottle in good time beforehand or decant it. It pairs well with roast lamb with rosemary, braised wild boar, or aged Pecorino Sardo.

The Winery

Argiolas

Argiolas – the cradle of the Sardinian wine renaissance. Founded in 1938 by Antonio Argiolas in Serdiana, the 230-hectare winery is managed today in the third generation by his grandchildren. Antonio was ahead of his time: larger vineyard areas, focus on quality.

With oenologist legend Giacomo Tachis as a consultant, the sons invested in modernization. Only indigenous grape varieties are cultivated – many almost forgotten. Vermentino, Cannonau, Monica, Carignano – the Mediterranean climate gives them ideal conditions.

The highlight: Turriga, regularly awarded 3 glasses in the Gambero Rosso. Sardinian, elegant, international. Over 2 million bottles annually – Sardinian wine culture for the world.
