Is Argiolas DOC Vermentino di Sardegna 0.75L
A single-varietal Vermentino from a single vineyard on calcareous soil in the south of Sardinia — taut, aromatic, and unmistakably Mediterranean in character.
Argiolas is the most famous winery in Sardinia and has been the benchmark for the island for decades. The family from Serdiana cultivates their own vineyards in the Cagliaritano and has played a decisive role in establishing Sardinian grape varieties such as Vermentino internationally. The Is is their most accessible Vermentino — named after the Sardinian word for "the" — and shows what the variety can achieve on limestone soils.
In the glass, straw yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose, ripe pear, mirabelle plum, and a hint of citrus peel, plus a fine herbal spice that reminds one of macchia. On the palate, fresh and dry, with a lively acidity that carries the fruit, and a slightly bitter almond finish — typical for Vermentino.
Best served at 8–10 °C. Pairs with grilled sea bass, seafood with olive oil and lemon, or a light goat cheese. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated aperitif on the terrace.

Argiolas – the cradle of the Sardinian wine renaissance. Founded in 1938 by Antonio Argiolas in Serdiana, the 230-hectare estate is now run by the third generation, his grandchildren. Antonio was ahead of his time: larger vineyard areas, a focus on quality. With legendary oenologist Giacomo Tachis as a consultant, his sons invested in modernization. Only indigenous grape varieties are cultivated – many almost forgotten. Vermentino, Cannonau, Monica, Carignano – the Mediterranean climate provides them with ideal growing conditions. The highlight: Turriga, regularly awarded three glasses in the Gambero Rosso guide. Sardinian, elegant, international. Over two million bottles produced annually – Sardinian wine culture for the world.
