Argiolas Iselis Rosso Monica di Sardegna DOC Superiore

Argiolas Iselis Rosso Monica di Sardegna DOC Superiore
Sardinia's oldest red wine winery brings one of the most reliable interpretations of the Monica grape variety to the bottle with Iselis Rosso — spicy, full-bodied and with real Mediterranean depth.
Argiolas was founded in Serdiana in 1938 and is today one of the most influential names in the Sardinian wine scene. The Iselis Rosso matures for twelve months in barriques and a further six months in the bottle—a maturation period that gives the Monica grape structure without diminishing its aromatic vibrancy.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it opens with blackberry and plum, followed by thyme, rosemary, and a hint of Christmas spices—typical of the maquis aromas of southeastern Sardinia. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, the tannins are supple, and the finish is pleasantly long with a slightly spicy, balsamic note.
