Château Tour Prignac Cru Bourgeois Médoc

Château Tour Prignac Cru Bourgeois Médoc
Red Bordeaux with clear fruit and ready-to-drink character — not a wine for aging, but a Médoc to open now.
Château Tour Prignac is located in Prignac-en-Médoc, north of Saint-Estèphe, and with around 300 hectares, it is one of the largest individual estates in the Bordeaux region. The winery holds the Cru Bourgeois classification — one of the most reliable quality levels for upscale Médoc wines outside the Grands Crus Classés. Behind the Château is the Castel group, which works with industrial precision and Bordeaux experience. The 2021 vintage was awarded gold at the Concours Vinalies Internationales 2023.
In the glass, the wine shows aromas of red cherry and blackberry, underscored by a hint of green bell pepper — typical for the northern Médoc. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, the acidity structure fresh, the finish medium-long with a slightly spicy note. Not a heavy, opulent Bordeaux, but a straightforward, juicy red wine with real drinkability.
Recommendation: Serve at 16–17 °C. Pairs with leg of lamb with herbs, grilled entrecôte, or a strong goat cheese.

It would have been easier to rest on their laurels. But the Castell family thinks ahead. They preserve their expertise, pass on their passion to the next generation, and cultivate their châteaux and estates with joy and vision. For them, wine is more than a product: it's about culture. About sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas with chefs, sommeliers, and all those who love good taste. Producing regional wines and Grands Crus is one thing. Another is keeping nothing to themselves. Sustainably, responsibly, and with heart. Because at Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus, they live by the conviction that wine must follow its own vision. Persistently, boldly, and with a flame that carries on – from generation to generation.
