Vie Cave Toscana IGT

A Malbec from the Maremma that shows what the Tuscan coast can extract from this Argentine grape variety: dark-fruited, spicy, with a body that brings both warmth and structure.

Fattoria Aldobrandesca manages its vineyards in southern Tuscany, where the Mediterranean climate favors long ripening periods and fully ripe grapes. The Vie Cave ages for 10 months in barriques — enough time to give the Malbec suppleness and depth without masking its fruit.

In the glass, it shows an intense ruby red. On the nose, it opens with red berry fruit, clove, and vanilla. On the palate, blueberry follows, then a long finish with dark chocolate and soft, ripe tannins. The texture is velvety, the finish lingering.

Pairs well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina, wild boar salami, or a strong Pecorino Stagionato. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.

The Winery

Antinori

Marchesi Antinori from Florence is one of the oldest and most significant wineries in the world: Since 1385, the family has been continuously cultivating wine and still manages the company in its own hands today.

In 1971, together with oenologist Giacomo Tachis, Piero Antinori laid the foundation for a revolution when he created the Tignanello, the first Super Tuscan – a Sangiovese-Cabernet blend aged in barriques that permanently changed the wine world.

Today, Piero's daughters Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia steer the company, which owns around 1,200 hectares of vineyards in Tuscany, Umbria, Piedmont, Apulia, and California. Tradition and a bold spirit of innovation are not opposites at Antinori, but the foundation of every single bottle.
